my dad died when i was 8, that was 21 years ago, and i never saw any of his family again, never got on with my mothers side so i left home at 16 and i was on my own, i got married ,had my children, but always wanted more extended family. i decided to try and do my family tree one day just spear of the moment kind of thing, when i put in my dads details i got a hot match in someone elses tree,with the same details that i had for my dad, i sent a mesage, and got a reply, it turned out to be my dads sisters daughter, so she was my cousin, we spoke over the internet for a few weeks, then decided to meet, i am now happy to say i have a grandad who is lovley, 2 auties, 2 uncles, 14 cousins, and most of my cousins also have children, they are all lovley and have welcomed me and my little family in to there massive family, i only ever had one picture of my dad, and did'nt know much about him, i now know all about what he was like and i have loads of pictures of him, and i was over the moon when i saw pictures of my dad as a child, cos he is the double of my little boy. i now feel that i belong to a family thanks very much to genes reunite. |
