Success Stories

My Success story is going too printed and will be in Southend-on-sea local newspaper called EVENING ECHO. It started when I found my Mums brother on Genes, they had never meet (and have yet to meet) after 67 yrs and thanks to Genes we found each other and are now in touch. But the most strange thing happened last week when my family and I booked a holiday to Paris which we went by train, we booked the train with Eurostar which must have been fully booked to go all the way through to Disneyland where we was heading so we had to change at a station in France which was Lille Europe the train was delayed by about 15mins in Ashford as someone wanted to get off so we was late to start off with. while we was at Lille Europe station there was two ends of the station that we could have waited at, we stood at one end of the station and for some reason we changed our minds and waited at the other end. Then when it was time to board our train we went down in the lift when I turned around there was my mums brother standing there in front of us )I could not believe it) as the lift door was shutting I shouted and called him, at this point he looked up and looked at me with a very puzzled looked as if to say who the hell are you, my partner and my two boys that was with me at the time also looked at me and thought I was mad as they must have thought who the hell was I calling( surely I don’t know anyone in France). We waited down stairs until John came down and I explained to him who I was and why I was calling him and he looked just as shocked as myself as we could not believe and thought that this was a one in a million chance of meeting like this after all these years of not actually knowing each other(we could not have planned our meeting up like this any better if we tried) he was on a two week holiday in Europe on his push bike unfortunately our meeting had to be cut very short as our train had arrived and we had to go which was a real shame as it would have been great to have gone somewhere for a drink and a nice chat face to face. It was still great to meet John my mum’s brother and it still seems very unbelievably how it all happened it was just meant to be Thank you Genes for helping us found parts of our family.
