Hi I just thought that I'd tell you about the events that took place just before and just after Christmas. Some time ago I listed my details, on the message board. I was looking for My two Half Brothers and one Half Sister. Little did I know that my Sister In Law Denise, had the same idea. I listed my details almost two years ago, and during that time the text on the GR site changed it's style to very old copperplate script. This is a beautiful sight to behold, but not - if you are like myself, and are registered blind. So even with the large print adaptations that I have on my PC it was almost imposible to read, so I decided to leave it. So imagine my supprise when, just ten days before Christmas last year, a letter finds a home on my door mat. It transpired, that it was from Denise. She had traced me via the electrol roll other methords. I rang Keith my youngest Brother that very same day. We had a lenghthy conversation, during which time we talked about meeting. A few days later Carol my Half Sister also called me, and then lastly Allan, the eldest one spoke to me, We met up on 28 December, and I went to stay with Carol for a few days last month where I met the rest of the family. We had a huge family get together, with 22 members attending, had evreyone been able to attend there would have been 29 of us that 29 has now risen to 31 as one of the family members wives has since given birth to twin boys. My next project is to find members of my Paternal Grandmother's family. So if you've come up against a brick wall and feel like giving up then don't. Keep trying it will I hope be worth it in the end. However when you do meet, take it slowly Rome was'nt built in a day. It's been a real emotional roller coaster for all of us. So thank you Denise for all your hard work. Saddly not all stories have the happy ending that ours has had. I hope that you find your families whoever and whereever you are. Take care/God Bless Judith Earwicker |
