Have only been a member of GR for about a year yet i have found family i did not even know existed, a cousin who i knew nothing about saw my name on the site, and contacted me after 50yrs. she knew all about me but i could not remember her, she sent me details of my parents only a relative would know.It turned out my dad and her dad were brothersand she knew about me as she is a little bit older, its been gtreat since then as i have found i have lots of other cousins and in the process of meeting them all.so thanks to GR if i had not joined i would never have known about them.my new cousin Rose and i are always meeting up as we only live a train ride away about a hours travel, thanks for all the help from other members as i am still looking for info on my mums sideof the family (GILLIS)from the south shields area,so once again a big thank you to all who helped me build my tree,it was a TWIG ha, ha but now it has grown into a healthy tree and i hope to keep it growing bigger....... |
