In September of 2006 I was contacted by a lady looking for information about my mother. This resulted in my meeting my two elder brothers, one of whom I had met three times when I was twelve the other I had never met at all. We took things very slowly to begin with so as not to risk anyone getting hurt. Then in February my brother's wife and I arranged a 'surprise' for his birthday, my husband and I travelled to Somerset to meet him, I had spoken to him on the phone and although his health is not so good due to a brain haemorrage, he was able to make it clear to me that he wanted us to meet, so when we turned up unexpectantly he was over the moon! The following day I met the brother I had only ever known by name, he travelled all the way down from Cambridgeshire to meet me! The family all called around to meet me and my brother's wife cooked a Christmas Dinner fo 10 to celebrate our re-union. The climax came when after her lovely meal the 'new' brother phoned my sister in New Zealand, so although my mum was sadly not alive to see us, her dream of us all being togerher one day was nearly complete! We are going again to see them in May and we keep in contact by letter as these can be kept! I was able to answer many of the questions the brother's had. THANK YOU, GENES REUNITED! |
