I wish to thank all my friends, family and contacts who have assisted in making my Family Tree spring to life again and a special thank you to Julie, Ros and brother Bill for the many messages and information they supplied over the years. We all have times when the archives dry up and info is very limited, so when unexpected surprises come along, the pleasure is great and sometimes emotionally moving. One of my ambitions was to break into the records of my Grandfather James William Healey and discover what made him tick. I can still recall some of the tales that referred to the amount of time he and his family spent travelling between Co Durham and Yorkshire and the number of times they moved house, sometimes just a few doors along the same street. It has been suggested that there must be Gypsy blood in our family tree. Very recently I received some pictures from Ros and to my great surprise and joy Grandad was standing there with his miners lamp in his hand ready to go down the mine. Very few men in the mining comunity were able to have pictures taken so that was amazing. So thank you Ros and John for making those pictures available. |
