If I hadn’t joined GR, known as GC when I first joined, I’d have never met the very special person I know today. It’s nearly a 1st year anniversary since we first met, In the time I’ve been adding names to my tree I knew of certain people but one in particular I added to my tree unknown to me she had also joined GR to find family, this lady mailed me and asked how I was related to this name I’d added, I mailed back with details of the name she’s seen on GR, to my amazement she was a cousin I’d never met, she is my father’s sisters daughter, I was so happy to find someone that was still alive! My father was the youngest in the family being born in 1916. All my father’s brothers and sister had died, years ago and I’m not in contact with anyone else. This wonderful lady had information of family in Australia that I had been hunting for, with no success, in less than a month from that first mail we met up, I invited her to my home, she brought with her masses of photos of family members that I had never seen, photos of my father as a baby, I was so excited that she knew so much, to top everything she gave me a present, it was a framed photo of my father as a choir boy, it was such a beautiful present to receive. Since that first meeting, we have met on many occasions at my home and hers, she is such a special person to me and I love her dearly, every time we meet she says that I am the image of her mother, this wonderful lady is in her 70s and has a wealth of information about our family, we mail each other almost daily, I will never lose contact with her, we get on so well and clicked at that first meeting. She will always have a special place in my heart. So thank you GR for starting this website about family tree building and all the people that have helped me over the years gather information about my family. Gillie xx
