I have been compiling the combined family tree of my husband Ken and myself for a few years now, and recently we were very happy to meet and entertain a couple we have been in contact with on the site for some time. Alan's grandfather and Ken's were brothers, but we never knew Alan existed until we traced the connections between our families. Alan and Margaret came from Formby, Lancashire, to visit their daughter in Perth, and decided to do a side trip to Adelaide, where we live. We met them at the airport, recognized each other straight away, and all hit if off immediately. We felt that we had known each other for years! During their stay we all were able to point out several family likenesses in Ken and Alan, and in photographs of other family members. We spent a very happy and busy six days showing them around as many of the interesting parts of Adelaide and surrounds that we had time for and they have now returned to Perth for another ten or so days with their daughter and her family before returning to the UK. Thanks Genes Reunited, another success story for you. Liz Coulthard (nee Betty McLeod) of Adelaide. |
