I have only been doing this for about 10 days, and have already discovered many interesting things about my family history & my 'roots',including many big surprises !!! For example, I always thought that my great-grandfather was Welsh, but it transpires that he was from Gloucestershire,whilst on my mother's side,the family I always believed to have come from Wiltshire turned out to have originated in Corpusty,Norfolk !!! I have spent a lot of time looking up unfamiliar places on maps ! What an interesting and absorbing hobby this is, and there are so many nice,helpfull,people out there--------a big THANKYOU to them all !!! |
