Today, it has bought it home to me how important this site is to people who are researching thier backgrounds. I have been researching a certain line of my family for quite a few years now, and found many distant relatives, it's been great. Today, however, I had a 'contatc from' msg me , basically 'are we related'? Yes i said (me getting all excited) turns out her mother has never seen a photo of her own mother, as her mother died when she was 2, and I have a copy in my poccession, when her daughter get's back with her email I will send it. But without this site this lady may have never known what her mother looked like, or her grandparents as I have photo's of them also. I have only got these copies of the photo's due to contacting people on GR. We live miles apart so can't wait to send them. Kim |
