Through this site I have managed to find so many relatives. I am regular contact with one of my second cousins and we are researching our 'unusual' family name together, exchanging stories from our parents/grandparents, etc. We also meet up regularly and are not only relatives, but good friends. Two of the other successes I have had, which I am really happy about is finding my dads cousin - my dad has sadly passed away, but have reintroduced my auntie to her cousin - even though they had not seen each other for about 70 years! Turns out that for 40 years they were living about 2 miles from eachother! The other is finding my mum's second cousin! She was actually bridesmaid at his grandparents wedding! She'd never mentioned it before, but really enjoyed telling me all about it - remembered her bridesmaid dress as if it were yesterday. So thanks GR for this site. AL |
