After losing touch with my best old school friend (Glasgow c.1970) I could hardly believe my luck when yet another effort to find her proved successful. I had put a message on the 'Trying to Find' board and two people got in touch with me saying they thought they knew the person I was looking for so I contacted the person I thought it may have been through Friends Reunited and lo and behold it was Sheila, my best friend. We sent each other one or two emails through the website and finally she came over to Ireland to see me with her husband who, believe it or not, I had introduced her to all those years ago and they had married. It was wonderful seeing her again after 40 years and it was as if those years had never happened. We were just as comfortable with each other as we always had been. The bonus part of this was, when I had a stroke in October the following year, Sheila came straight over to help my husband out and to make sure I was OK which is what true friends are all about. Thank you so much Friends Reunited for making all my years of searching worth it. As an added bonus I was then put in touch with another old school friend who had emigrated to Canada so I'll probably be taking a trip over there in the near future.
