My mum had always been curious about her dad's side of the family as he died when she was very young and no one really knew much about him. After signing up on her behalf on genes reunited, i began to search for peoples names who my mum could rembember, I began searching for her dad initially, and came up with a match, with a similar year of birth to what we guessed might be his actual year of birth. After contacting the person who had the name listed in their tree it transpired that the owner was in fact my mums half cousin, his mother is my mum's half sister who my mum had not seen since she was a very little girl. We/ve found about 8 extra family members so far! All living in Australia of all places! Needless to say my mum was overjoyed at what I managed to find for her and we have enjoyed getting in touch with our new found family. Thank you Genes Reunited, you've made our year!!
