I have been researching for over 30 years and never thought that form humble beginnings when I hardly knew anything about my immediate family, I now have a database of over 15,500 persons going back to the 1750's. Every person on my database can be linked by some route to either my wife or to me. Two websites have helped me to expand my tree - the IGI and GenesReunited and from the latter I get an average of 40 messages every week, About 5% are positive with new found 'cousins' from as far afield as Australia and New Zealand and the tree is still spreading. Everyone dreams of finding some hidden furtune and in my case I have discovered hereditable property that is outstanding since 1888 which may be claimed by the closest living male ancestor of William Dunbar (chr 17 Dec 1802 at Glenbervie) and Agnes Taylor (chr 29 Jul 1799 at Fettercairn) through their children William, David, James or Christina. Unfortunately, I am not first in line to make that claim and still seeking that lucky person. |
