Forgetmenot Report 18 Aug 2006 17:01

Having joined GR to try and trace my Fathers blood line back I have manged to make contact with several people that are related to me, I have met only one so far, she is a cousin that I didn't know existed for sure, we first met up in March this year after 40 odd years, she knew who I was but she had no idea where I was living, in fact we live less than an hours drive from each other, when we met for the first time she brought with her family photos that I have never seen going back 3 generations on mine and her Grandparents side, I was even more chuffed to recieve a present from her, it was a framed photo of my Dad as a young boy of about 13 when he was a choir boy, the only photos I have seen of my Dad had been in later years when he was in his 40s. I was thrilled today to recieve a mail from another contact on here with a photo of my Grandfathers sister, there is a real family resemblance to me. After many years of hunting I have now found my Uncle who left the UK for Australia back in the early 1900s, he was very young and made a new life out there, I have contact with his daughter and her family. Thanks to all on GR who have helped me find my family, I will always be truly greatful. Yours Gillie xx
