TONY LINDLEY I have had remarkable success using GRU. I've made contact with loads of relatives, both close and distant, but due to Hot Matches, I hit the Jackpot! I was put in contact with a Beverley Lindley in Australia. We compared trees, and at first glance, it didn't look like there was a connection. There was, however, one nagging clue. Both our trees originated in Epworth in the late 18thC. Bev and her husband Rick are over here at the moment on a 2 month holiday, so we met up and went to Scunthorpe Central Library, wher all the parish records are kept on microfiche. There, we found our common ancestors. We even made the local news:- http://www.doncastertoday.co.uk/ViewArticle2.aspx?SectionID=786&ArticleID=1701745 All thanks to GRU! |
