I am an adoptee and have been searching for my birth mother through various resources. With the help of Genes Reunited, I have the opportunity to contact her as she is definitely listed as having a tree. What I would really like to know from other adoptees, who I know from this forum have had similar success, is how you went about the initial contact ? Would you do it any different if you had a second chance ? It is over 50 years since my adoption so it could be a bit of a shock to suddenly get a message from your child. I will only get one chance at this so any advice would be welcomed. |
