When I first started tracing my family tree 25 years ago following my gran's death, it was a long, slow and expensive process. In the last couple of years since the advent of web genealogy I’ve tracked down and shared info and photos with 12 distant relatives of my own and my husbands in the UK, USA and Canada. Eight of these contacts have been found with the help of GR members - HOTMATCHES does work! Our extended family is made up of different races and nationalities which makes it all the more interesting, and challenging, to track down! We’re having a family get-together at end of august for my family and many of my dad’s first cousins whom he has not seen since my parents wedding nearly 50 years ago. Everyone is going to bring their photo albums – there's a lot of catching up to do!
