My research began nearly three years ago, looking for possible living relatives in NZ. This ended sadly when I found that all three had died, even a cousin who would have been in his 50's now, died at the age of 14 from a asthma attack. I carried on from there building a family tree. Last weekend my family and I met with cousins on my mum's side, for the first time, it was lovely afternoon. The photographs were flowing freely, and I actually got to see a photo of the great aunt I searched for in NZ. It was wonderful to put faces to names, and have so many memories to share. This meeting would never have happened if it wasn't for Genes Reunited. There are lots of helpful people here and it's great to finally be able to put a story on the success board. Thank you Long may GR reign. |
