A week last Sunday I found my Birth Mother, after 35 years. We found each other by chance really on genes reunited. I had been registered since mid January. We matched some information a week last Thursday and we asked to asked to view each others trees. I sort of had a gut feeling it was her, but after a few sleepless nights I decided to contact this person through the site and explain who i was and the information in my tree and that if it was her and she couldnt/didnt want to get intouch that I would appreciate knowing and that would be it. Sunday teatime had 2 messages from her and her phone number and found out I have 2 sisters and 6 nieces/nephews. She is now living in up north with my younger sister. She sent me her email addy and mobile number and also a lot of information and the fact that she still had the photo that my mum and dad had sent her. I called her after a few texts and emails and we chatted for 2 hours. We have talked daily since and texts loads. It is so lovely, I feel grounded and that i belong. Last Sunday my partner and I drove up to meet her. It was one of the best days of my life. I felt so safe, happy and that i belonged. It is as though we have known each other years and never been apart. I have read so many books on adoption and never thought that I would find her and get in touch and never in my wildest thoughts be able to have contact and to feel like this and have this success. Thanks Genes Reunited. Sarah aka Lisa |
