Since my parents died I have been trying to find a maternal grandfather, without success. Family rumour said he had gone to Canada with his parents but all tracks led to a dead end, until Pippa offered a lookup in the Canadian 1911 Census (Wouldn't it be great if we could see our 1911 Census?). Lo and behold, there he was in Saskatchewan on a farm, having gone to Canada in 1905 as the rumours said. So I now have my missing grandfather! Well done, Pippa! |
