i was adopted as a baby in 1962, and never bothered to find my birth mother until last year, aged 43. i got my adoption records from social services which told me nothing but a name, and told it could take me years. i came home the same day and had a message from friends reunited of which i am a member, and a piece about genes reunited came up and i thought i would try. i put in my birth mothers name and got one match. would you beleive it was her living in spain married with a different name, been out of the country for 10 years, we have met once and talk on the phone often.i rang the social worker later and told him and he said he was going to advise people to do what i did, he was amazed. so as you can imagine i am a big fan of genes reunited.
