My Grandmother Charlotte Caroline Curtis Christened 6-11-1864 St Thomas Salisbury her Father Stephen Curtis her Mother Ann Burge Charlotte 1st married Sept 1892 to Vincent John Sexton who died 1903 Charlotte then married Charles George Taylor. I have now found a marriage certificate but they had 1 son stephen Charles Taylor born 17-02-1907 at 44 George St Swindon this came from his birth certificate. Charlotte died in 1913 and Charles died in 1918 Swindon. Alice Curtis (my great Aunt) married George Grey and they were my father's guardian till my Dad came to Australia in 1925 under the 1st Big Brother shipment of Young English boys. They had two daughter Jo who married Harry Hawkins. Albina married late in life to Mr Watt. My father told me of an Uncle James owning a Pub or guest house at Brixham?? He had another Aunt Sara Christabell.Curtis who married Harold Chapellow and lived in Leeds Yorkshire. The Chapplow girls were sent to Canada after their fathers death C 1910-20. My Great Grandfather was Stephen Curtis of (Fordingbridge)and wife (2nd?) Ann Burg of Summerset They lived at the Cheese Market Salisbury. Stephen ran his own plumbing firm and had men working for him. My Dad being an orphan at 11 did not not know to much about his family. Another name he mentioned was Harcourt Stephen Shelly Curtis who was a ships captain? and who married a New Zealand lady Besy Christie. I known this is not much to go on but something might click one day. The Taylor came from Hillmartin Wiltshire. James Taylor married Mary Newman my Great Grandparents. With the help of Family Tree -ANCESTRY GENEALOGY has helped me to find all of the above. I now have an engish family. Thank you [email protected] |
