After searching Friends Reunited for an aunt, I stumbled across Genes Reunited where I entered her name in the search tool and stumbled across an Uncle I never knew I had who has been searching for 5 of his siblings (including my mother) for the last 10 years. The children were split up in the 50s after their mother died and by the mid 60s and early 70s most had lost contact with each other. In only a few hours, we were able to confirm we were actually related and are in contact daily! My mother never knew she had two younger brothers but thanks to Genes Reunited we are hoping to meet up with one of them who only lives 20 minutes away in a couple of weeks time! |
