I was handed the research of a great uncle who had conventional genealogy research for years , without the use of the internet. He is sadly now deceased. but armed with his data going back 4 generations to 1800's I joined geneconnected. I had fabulous luck after a couple of weeks a contact gave me the name of another researcher, who then gave me huge amounts of research going back to 1640's! I have since found distant cousins both in UK and also Australia, Canada, and US. I have also now got a number of email and MSM contacts who I keep in touch with. One such contact was the grandaughter of my 90yr old Great Uncle on mothers side. I was able to send him a B&W picture via email of his father who had no pictures of him and hadnt seen him for more years than he could remember! I believe he is having it framed for christmas. I now have more email & genesconnected contacts than I can keep up with and my backlog of people to add to my tree is huge! Thanks genesconnected! [email protected] |
