I do not approve of self congratulatory systems which are created to make the public feel that the product is superb. However, since coming to G.R. I have connected with over a dozen close family and lost relatives. I have determined to look for certain members of the family, and in most cases, I have actually found a living member or someone who is aware of that member within a single day. Last night, I went looking for information on my cousins James, David and Carol Ann Watson from Edinburgh. Their mother, my Aunt Agnes, gave me more personal help than anyone in my family, except my mother, who has spoken at length over a number of years, on her siblings and the prior generation. Not only did I find a relative who has David, his wife Sandra and their son David on her tree, I found David himself. This site ABSOLUTELY WORKS and it would WORK EVEN BETTER if we networked our research and worked in teams to lighten the load and speed up our genealogical research capabilities. The reason for my seeking these cousins was that in a similar situation I found five generations of our family in various United States regions, and made connections through, Scotland, back to Ireland and England, where the emigrating families originated. Thank you G.R. and most of all, thank you G.R. members, for making your trees available to me and mine that we might unite with you and yours. Robert Hutton, New Haven, CT. born Bangour Hospital, West Lothian, Scotland, 5/7/1953, to Dan Hutton of Fauldhouse, and Margaret Gallagher of Pumpherston. Brother to seven siblings. Father tof two, uncle to loads, and pain in the butt to some. Should any Lanarkshire and West Lothian Huttons, relatives of Midcalder Gallaghers, Edinburgh Watson's, Kirkfieldbank genealogists, or Airdrie hoardrers of genealogical research have anything they wish to share. PLEASE e-mail me at [email protected] By the way, I have just received a message from Linda Rintoul, the family connection was right on the money. The response took less than 12 hours and it is a transatlantic call. :-).
