I have found links to 8 people on this site - from both my family tree and my husbands. Thanks to everyone who has provided help to me over the last year or so - it's made such a difference. One elusive and rather 'colourful' ancestor of my husband's - SOLOMON COOK(E) from Graffham, Hunts (married to PHOEBE CURRINGTON) - left his family and vanished over 155 years ago and there are 3 of us on this site still trying to find out what happened to him all these years later! I wish we could turn back the clock and find out ... Did he really run off with a young school teacher to America, did he get sent to prison (again) and just not return home, or did he come to a 'sticky' end? We'd love to know! |
