I had only been using Genes Reunited for literally one day when I came across a name matching ours. I have been wanting to do my little boys family tree for ages now and simply didnt know where to start After one message to a very kind, and obviously hardworking family treet expert - Stuart - I was able to trace my sons family line right back to 1748!!!!!!! I can't believe it!! I always thought that the surname was quite rare and never in a million years thought that this would be the outcome with my very first attempt on the site!!! I am now trying desperatley to trace my side of the family - Wilkinson. I seem to have hit a brick wall with Ernest WIlkinson, aged 33 at the time of the 1901 Census, living in Wigan with his wife Mary (nee Parkinson). Ernest was born in Leeds and that as far as I can get. Any info would be greatly appreciated - although i'm sure that given my past success with the help of your members it wont be long before I can find out much much more!! Thanks again Genes Reunited - and Stuart of course!! |
