I have already contributed to this message board having only found Genes Reunited within the last two weeks. I was so impressed that I exported a Gedcom file from my own family tree which contained over 800 names and 222 families. They were up and running almost immediately and I was the awash (pleasantly) with queries from far and wide. Four of them have been positive family relations from very early in my tree. But I must tell you the very best result. I wrote a biography about a namesake who became an important figure in the trade union and Labour Movement in Britain in the nineteenth century. His name was Pete Curran, a Scotsman of Irish descent who became MP for Jarrow from 1907 to 1910. Unfortunatley I was unable to get it published, mainly because he died relatively young at the age of 49 yrs, and I was told by a number of publishers it would have a limited readership. I have had the document ever since, but recently thought that I would try and find his descendants and pass them the book as an heirloom. I tried a number of other Family Tree websites to no avail. I put a message on yours 2 days ago and yesterday received a message from the sister in law of the great grandson of this eminent man - whose great grandson lives in Australia. I cannot praise your site too much. It is a wonderful contribution to genealogists the world over. I and my wife have been researching our families for over 30 years in registry offices, family history libraries, in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast and also on the internet of many of the 'eminent' sites and although they were useful, not one matched up to the immediacy, the comprehensive content, or the success that your site has achieved. Therefore I am speaking from long experience. I don't have to be asked to recommend it. That is par for the course. Thank you Genes Reunited.
