My mum had a picture that was passed on by her mother, it is a photo of my gt gt gran, Emma Adelaide Hawes. She always intrigued me and my gran had always told us not to look into the family tree, which made more curious. So when she died I decided I would find out more. It had taken me 6 months of searching to find anything about her, but while searching I found my third cousin who by strange coincidence lives 200 yards around the corner from me. Without the help from her and all the replies I had to my thread about William Hawes (See Thread William Hawes) I believe we would not have found out alot about her. The advice I had was absolutly brilliant, I would never have thought of looking at thier childrens birth certificates to find when they were married. (But i still do not know the family secret and may never will.) I would just like to say thank you to all the people who replied to my thread because with out them my cousin and I would not have found William and Emma's marriage cert. I am only sorry that my subscription ran out and I didnt read the replies for a month or so. So I apologise to all those who replied but without your help I would never have been able to move on with this. Thank you
