Was so thrilled to find that after only a few weeks I was able to make contact with my first cousin Jean in the UK. Both she and I had given up any hope of ever finding each other. In fact we didn't know either of us existed until I found her and her sister Brenda's details at the Family Records Centre in London when I visited the UK last year. Jean was truly excited because she found out that I was one of 7 children and therefore she had 7 cousins in Australia. Sadly one of my brother's passed away shortly after we found each other. My father left Birmingham in 1913 and came to Australia and lost all contact with his family in the UK. Now I am planning another trip to the UK to meet my lovely new cousins and put together all the missing pieces. This would never have been possible without Genes Reunited so a big thank you to them. |
