I knew my maternal grandmother had siblings but, apart from their names could find no trace of any of them. After searching for a couple of years, I had given up hope when I spotted my maternal grandfather's name and year of birth on a list of surnames sent by Genesreunited. The person looking for information had the name of my grandmother's older brother so I decided to reply to see if there could be some connection. There was indeed, as the person to whom I wrote was the grandson of the brother of my maternal grandmother. In other words, I have found a second cousin whom I knew nothing about and we are both delighted to have made contact. Christine Gaylor |
