Hi My Husband had been looking for his father over in the States for years, and it always came to nothing. Then I joined this site typed in his name and asked anyone for help, it was amazing the help people gave. We have found that his Dad has passed away but he has a half brother he knew nothing about and a cousin also. we have had quite a bit of contact from both of them, and have received photo's we never thought we would see. We are going over to the States soon for a meeting it is very exciting. When you dont know what people in the family look like and you look at your off spring and think I wonder where he or she got those eyes etc and then you see a face looking out at you in a photo and it is them I can tell you it is a wierd feeling, as our Son looks just like his grandfather.(so I can say to husband see he is not the milkmans - not that ever thought he was). Also I have found so many of my own family, cousins aunts uncles and a lot that have passed away. I have now gone back to 1600 on one side of my family, as they are listed in a book about East Riddlesden Hall in Keighley in Yorkshire, and the funny thing is my Daughter got married there just resently without knowing about this before hand, it seems you always go back to your roots, some how. Well everyone keep looking and ask questions and for help there is someone out there that will only be to pleased to. Good luck happy searching as I am, well done GR and thank you and everyone that has helped us in our quest. Chris.
