My grandmother was one of 10 children, born in London, Married in 1926 had 16 children of her own, my mother being the eldest of them, times were hard and the family was evacuated during the war so contact with aunts, Uncles and cousins was next to none. I have been reserching my family history for years, I join Genesreunited last year and a new world opened up to me, earlier this year I found a lady called Kath who had the same names and dates as I so I contacted her, we were both amazed how we had the same family but didn't know of each other. As it turns out her Mother and my Grandmother were sisters and as i said my grand mother left London during the war and Kath was born towards the end of the war, so my mother never had contact, she knew that she had lots of cousins and some of their names but being from a big family her self never got to meet them as she now lived in Leicester. I emigrated to Australia in 1989 and thought the chances of meeting Kath was slim and told her that I lived over here I was amazed with her reply, She lives a 45 minute drive from me, we have since met up twice and get along really well, we shall keep in touch and have vowed to continue our searches together.
