What a beautiful day - I wanted to share something with you all. My mother is 69 this year and a fantastic lady, she was brought up in a welsh childrens home after being taken away from my grandmother at the age of 11rs, she also had a younger sister who was taken into care with her, when mam was 15 she was told that Eleanor, her sister had died, for the rest of her life my mam ached for her as she had been Eleanors main carer( Eleanor was handicapped), I am a qualified counsellor and knew mam needed to be able to say goodbye to her sister, it took me 6yrs to eventually find her resting place, she had in fact not died until 2yrs after mam had been told she had- they had just told mam this to seperate the sisters(how awful), but my journey was only just beginning because as I sat with mam and listened to her life story she mentioned another sister and a brother, both younger than her, and both adopted I set out to see if I could find them and on mam's birthday in Oct last year gave mam a birth certificate for her sister and her brother, I managed to trace her sister Shiela in Nov last year and reunited them the same day, Shiela did not know of my mam, she did not know she had a birth sister - now they never stop talking!!, they grew up in the same valley just a street away and they didnt know. What a magical experience to give my own mam her precious sister, now I continue to look for John Greenhaff( birth name), can anone help with this part of my journey? Hope you all find whatever it is you are all searching for regards keri |
