Until I found this site, I was searching my ancestry in isolation. I came upon a name I recognised and contacted that person. He replied right away and when I asked him how long he'd been doing research, he told me, 'about a week' - I'd been at it for about six years. I'm so glad for this site. I'm now in touch with many relatives in England (I live in Canada). It's been so much fun getting in touch with them and my tree is growing exponentially. I have photos of people I never thought I would see. Someone once said to me, I'll bet back in 1872 they would never have thought their names would be spoken in 2005. This wonderful pasttime makes them so real and so loved. I speak their names just to keep their memories alive. Best wishes, Maureen |
