Success, I should say so - I had endeavoured to trace information of my wife's gandmother without any success when through a contact I received details of her ancestors extending back to 1116 AD. Links through names many of which previously unknown - Thurlow, Debenham,Noble,Bantick,Bantock, Bantocke, Bantoft, De Rushbrooke, Rushbrooke. In total 26 generations. There was a further tentative link via this line to a Scots family as far back as 980 AD. - And I was only searching for grandma around 1880 !!! That was a result. I have had so much willing help from many members of GR that I have been amazed at the generosity of spirit which exists among amateur genealogists. Thank-you to all my contacts. |
