I joined GC just over a year ago and posted messages trying to find my birth parents. Joan Allen from the My Folks web site took up the challenge and found my mother and 3 sisters. Unfortunately my mother wants her secret to remain that way but she did pass on my father's name. Again Joan came up with the names of 2 sisters and my fathers marriage. He and his wife are both dead. I had sent letters with stamped addressed anvelopes but got no reply so I decided to grasp the bull by the horns and say that I was definately the half brother. Last night I had a telephone call from his grandson, then one from his daughter who is staying with another sister in America, then another one from his daughter. I was awakened this morning with a telephone call from another daughter who lives in Greece and I have just recieved some photos of my father from my nephew in Greece. Tomorrow is my 58th birthday and this is the most wonderful present I could ever have hoped for. Thank you GC and Joan Allen good luck with your searches to everyone Dave |
