A huge thank you to Genes for the success we have had in finding living relatives. My wife's father, Harold, left home when she was just four, and there was no contact after that. Trawling family records we found he had died in 1984 and thought that was that. However we put his name into Genes and a prospective match came up. I sent a message in the morning stating that they had my wife's father on their list. Back came the message "Hello cousin". Before the end of the day we learned that we had five first cousins and an aunt still alive and by the end of the day we had photographs of my wife's father, grandfather, and great grandfather together with wives. None of these did my wife previously know about. Since then regular contact and meet ups have been held and wonderful relationships established. :-) Thank you once again Genes. |
