For many of my younger years I felt something was missing as I knew nothing of my family apart from immediate cousins and Aunts and Uncles, but when I got a computer I took the opportunity to search for them, I found Genes and now have several hundred name going back to the 1600's.

But the best thing is that I have found living relatives, so last June my wife and I went back to the UK from New Zealand where I have lived since 1948 and met up with 17 cousins and their families, three of these were my father's 1st cousin's who like him are still alive all in their 90's, neither side knew of each other.

Last Xmas one of my cousin's and her partner came out to visit us, which was great as we were able to return their kindness while we were visiting them.

Everyone we met welcomed us with open arms and hearts.

We are so great full of the help I have received from you all out their in Genes whether you are related or not.

Cheers to you all Colin Wilkin
