Found my Hugh Gordon's birth - son of Hugh Gordon adn Mary Ann Duke according to his marriage and death certificates (he had been born Hugh GORMAN in 1871 in England, but married as Hugh GORDON in Scotland and died there also. I had to track his father down by searching for every Hugh who was a shoemaker and after I found a Hugh GORMAN who was a shoemaker, I could connect him to Mary Ann Duke his wife and the rest of the Scottish certificates bore this out too). Now to find Hugh GORMAN's parents (he was around 1841 in Scotland to Margret Russell and Daniel GORMAN) |
