After many years of thinking that all my fathers relatives were lost to me, due to the family dispersing, and not keeping in touch, I joined Genes reunited not knowing what to expect. My father was one of ten, so I thought someone might be out there! I had only a few names, and no dates except my fathers, but began to build up a tree. I was thrilled recently when a second cousin got in touch, and I caught up on one side of the family. We met, and got on immediately. Then a first cousin of my own age got in touch, and we had a long phone call. The family come from Norfolk, but she lives, quite by chance in the next town to me in Sussex. We will be meeting shortly. She has much history and many photos to share. I look forward to continuing to trace my family. I have got back as far as the late 16th century in one case, and have several churchyards to visit! Thankyou GR. Angela Salter |
