I have been searching for my Doherty (Dubh) and Duffy families for a long time and Having come to a block in the family tree, I did manage to find a cousin that I hadn't seen for at least 40 years, with him we managed to arrange a family reunion in Buncrana Ireland this easter 2009 where all of my dads family are from. We only have one aunt living from a family of 10 siblings there, so it was extra special for her to have all of her siblings families around her. There was approx 140 of us all sharing a very special and emotional reunion. I was able to meet cousins that I hadn't met for 40 years and more, and my daughter and grandaughter were able to get to know so many family members they didn't know they had. I also managed to meet with a Duffy member of the family, a cousin, and she has been doing the family tree for a long time and had so much information she can share with me, so I am looking forward to receiving that from her. |
