This man was my Grandmothers first husband, she was pregnant
He left her to go to Australia and was meant to send for her but never did.
He met another woman in Australia, married her and moved to New Zealand where he built a home and raised their daughter.
He died in 1972 at North Shore Hospital and was cremated and lay with his second wife Phylis. I found their final resting place during the summer of this year 2007.
Now for the punch line!
In 1972 I emigrated to New Zealand and worked at the North Shore Hospital, in Milford I was also just living a few streets away from where Cecil William Jones, built his house.
I visited Milford and was delighted to see the house was still there, and the person living there was only to pleased to show me around, still the same wallpaper and in really good condition.
The owner was very proud of his purchase and loved living there.
I have decided not to go any further with this trail, though as his daughter would be well into her eighties.
And on his burial papers, he had put that he hadn't been married before.
But, I am really happy to say I can lay him to rest.
Thanks for info gathered on Genes, I was able to find out he had come from Kent.
Imagine if he had come from Wales.
Then I was told where to find Passenger List.
Where I found him in Australia, from there found he had left there for New Zealand.
Which, made it easier for me to find him as I live there.
Just knew I would find him eventually.
Thanks to everyone for their help.
