I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all that have helped, in haleping me find my lost ancestors.
I did not realise that the Taylors,Tricketts and Druyve all came out from England with 10 years of each other and Crawley and Kents came out also within 5 years of each other. Here I was thinking that my had been here for awhile and that most of them had been born here in Australia. Almost all of the families that came out arrived in Port Jackson, most of them lived in Sydney, a couple in Victoria and also Queensland.
Also discover that I have a famous sculler by the name of Ned Trickett is my great uncle and that his brother was a convict from England,. Also discovered have a great uncle who was also a convict but from Ireland.
Never knew that there was so much history in my family tree.
I would never have found this information, except thru the ladies and a few gents here, who have offered advice where to look, and have found so many "cousins" from around the world, that I never knew of. I am also finding out that parents never "talked" about incidents as to why parents separated or divorced, so there are still many questions unanswered.
I am still trying to find out info about my grandfather Herbert Aldred Crawley and my 2xgreat grandfather arriving in Australia around 1839 by the name of Robert Taylor and Mary Balson,Balsom,Balsam, but have people who have offered to look at records for me.
So again thank GR members for helping me.
