My 3rd great grandmother Mary Ellen Worthington was born in Liverpool in 1839 - she was one of nine children - I had traced pretty much the whole of the Worthington Clan in Liverpool right up to about 1900 or so, what puzzled me was there were literally about 100 people I had found...but where were the living relatives of this huge family in Liverpool??

It was a puzzle...until a new found relative contacted me via GR..I was so shocked when asking her where she lived in Liverpool it turned out she only lived a few streets away from an Aunt of mine and a 4th cousin of hers!"!!

Wow I thought, this is fantastic..so upon her asking me where I lived..and me telling her 'ahh you wouldn't have heard of the place..its a town called Yate near Bristol' Well...not only had she heard of it..but another 4th cousin lived in a village about 5 miles away from me...so I duly made a visit to the said cousin...only to find out her son lived in the next street to me!!!!!!

So, it seems that my 3rd Great Grandmothers Brothers family had done exactly the same journey as my own...brought up in Liverpool...and then a branch moved to the same place...and what is even more spooky....we moved to this area literally at the same time...about 30 years ago....so...my yearning to have my Liverpool family close to me was finally fulfilled....in a way I would never have imagined!!!!
