Thanks to Kathryn B I have found out a lot of info about my great grandfather (above), but today I have found out that he was married twice! First when he was about 21 to Ann? and they had 7 children. I haven't found out what happened to Ann yet, then he married my great grandmother Elizabeth Haggie around 1878 and they had 4 sons 2 of which I had no knowledge, the other 2 my grandfather and great uncle Charles I knew well.

Just goes to show, families have secrets, don't talk about things, this device is wonderful at finding things out.

Thanks Genes and Kathryn B et al for all your initial help. Just waiting now to find the missing descendents of the first family.
