Having an unusual name is an advantage, particularly when going further back than census records. After considerable research, I discovered a distant relative with whom I have stayed. We found that our trees went back to the fifteenth century, and that our families branched off in 1662, but lived in the same region for many years. In later times, his roots remained firmly in the the South West and mine moved up to the Midlands and the North with the Industrial Revolution. The medium of this site assisted in getting us together. Rob |
