Delboy1978 Report 4 Sep 2008 11:33

Hello all

During the 1930's my grand mother had 4 children 3 boys and 1 girls. Something happend in 1940 which made my grandmother give up two boys and she fled to manchester with her eldest boy and a baby who was just born. Two years later she had another baby, my mother.

The two boys who were given up where never spoken about again, the two youngest children, the girls never knew they had two brothers.

60 years later: i began doing my family history and to cut a long story short i found these two brothers by chance. both living at either ends of the country. Was a bit of a shock i can tell you.

Last weekend: I managed to reunite them all to celebrate a family 50th wedding aniversary. Apart from one who had sadly died early this year.

Not only have I found my mums brothers: who come with their own families. But her cousins from her aunts and uncles as it wasnt only the children that were left behind many years ago.

It took me 4 years to get to this stage from starting this!!! and many help as come from Genes.

so keep up the searching even if you hit blocks!! the rewards are worth it
