i'd just like to thank everyone who has helped me to try and find these relatives.............

after visiting tavistock cemetary and going through the records with the superintendant i have now found the graves of william john, his wife elizabeth jane and their son maurice keast.....

william john did exist after all, so a big thank you to all who did try and help, this is one puzzle that has now been solved.
